LONTRAS is the personal project of Juan Arca (voice and guitar). Through his songs, Juan offers an itinerary in which music and lyrics complete each other, stoking the imagination of the listener and summoning visual and emotional landscapes.
Having studied classical guitar at the Madrid conservatory but disillusioned with academia, Juan returns to Galicia around the time of the Covid pandemic. He decides to give free rein to his creative impulses – and the first songs are born. Always using the guitar as the instrumental basis, Lontras’ music combines the armonic sophistication of jazz and classical music to the pop accessibility of bands such as Wilco or Elliott Smith.
