Suns Europe is back in summer and launches the new call for artists!
Fill in the online form by 6 June 2021 to participate
After a very positive experience in 2020, the festival Suns Europe – organized by Cooperativa Informazione Friulana, publisher of Radio Onde Furlane, with the financial support of Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia, ARLeF – Agjenzie Regjonâl pe Lenghe Furlane, and Fondazione Friuli, with the collaboration of the Municipality of Udine, of the Basque Institute Etxepare and of other local and international public and private bodies – comes back with a revisited summer version, that will be held between July and August 2021 in several locations across Friuli.
Among the news (for now!) is the launch of the new call for music artists! Given the organizational difficulties caused by the pandemic last year, the board of Suns Europe had decided to skip the competition and invite some bands who were “old acquaintances” of the festival. This year, however, Suns Europe is going back to its roots, at least in part: while the summer edition has been confirmed in place of the usual winter event, the search for new singers-songwriters and bands, whose musical production is an expression of Europe’s minority language communities, is on again.
All entries must be submitted no later than 6 June 2021, by filling in the online form (available at https://www.sunseurope.com/suns-europe-call-2021/). Only original and innovative compositions, chosen at the sole discretion of the Suns Europe artistic committee, will be accepted. The selected finalists will be invited to play live in Udine during the main event of the festival or – here begin the news – in one of the concerts planned in other locations across Friuli. As per current health regulations, selected guests may be asked to take a SARS-CoV2 PCR test within 48 hours prior to departure.
