Don Condor eta Ñora Alacran are the alter egos of Niña Coyote eta Chico Tornado, a well-known duo of uncompromising rock ‘n’ roll. In 2017, on a leg of their world tour, they were thunderstruck by the landscapes of the Rumorosa desert (Mexico) and decided to create a side project influenced as much by cumbia as by the darkest surf. In 2022, they released an album of surprising songs that slither like the intoxicating venom of a desert snake.

The Gemona-based quartet combines the influence and fascination of 1970s songwriting with the rough scratch of English-style rock. Bakan’s songs do not presume to address the world’s great problems but tell simple stories that are never too difficult to identify with. From the wall-pinned flyer of the 90s to the social media bombardment of today, Bakan have always avoided any kind of rhetoric, managing to maintain a unique and precious sincerity and integrity.
