SYNOPSIS: After the Spanish Civil War, young Sol witnesses a crime that forces her to flee her homeland and seek refuge in Andorra. There, she discovers the world of smugglers and gradually becomes one of them, helping people escape Nazism. Based on real events and testimonies, Laia Perearnau’s novel “La Passadora” highlights the central — yet often forgotten — role of women in the Resistance networks during World War II.
GUEST: Laia Perearnau i Colomer (Barcelona, 1972). She holds degrees in Communication Sciences and History and began her professional career in print journalism before moving to television. She currently works as a screenwriter for Televisió de Catalunya. Her first novel, “Francesca de Barcelona”, won the “Nèstor Luján” Prize for Historical Fiction in 2022.
